Anime Review: Zero No Tsukaima 1

whee louise. Yeah sorry for 3 days of non-posting. Its probably due to the fact where I used to post everyday and now I have nothing to post about.

This is Zero No Tsukaima! Welcome to the show!

Yes folks, this is Zero No Tsukaima! Welcome to the show!

 Summary pl0x.

Its about this guy named Saito that is an ordinary human being just like jx but then he suddenly got teleported into a random place with 2 moons(ha the game! haha!) and suddenly established a connection with a TSUNDERE(yes caps folks, she’s tsun like nuts and very dere like nuts too) and some copyrighted name called gandalfR. One sentence proves jx’s summary skills.

First Impression

Honestly, I expected this show to be a Shana 2. Oh well, the difference is huge. And its better than Shana 1 in my opinion.

Characters and Development

The variety of characters here is kinda subpar. Saito in this season isn’t that gar as the ending of ZnT 2, but yeah he still proves his place as the male lead of this show. Louise is kinda win, probably due to the deredere parts. I mean holy. She’s a extreme tsundere to be exact. There’s Siesta, which you have seen in the bathing screenshot previously. She’s really… normal. Just like Nami from Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei. Black hair, meido, falls in love with main character, you see it all the time. Other characters are present such as the narcissistic Guiche, and someone that actually could fall in love with him- Monmorency if my memory doesn’t fail me as usual, Yuki Nagato Tabitha, and slut Kirche. I could see the development in Saito/ Louise’s relationship seriously. So fast that you could actually spend 6 hours to see 2 people that hate each other kiss. Oh man I love it like that. Revising every rant I just put down, I would say that the cast in Zero No Tsukaima isn’t desirable. Other than Saito and Louise, everyone else is just filler and filler. Maybe other than Siesta. But I could not expect non filler characters from a 13 episode plot-full show.

Artwork

Kinda allright actually. Character designs are really…creative. =.=

Saito looks like the twin brother of Yuji. Louise looks like… a long pink haired anime girl. The only difference is that she’s a slight loli. Without a gothic suit. Then Siesta does make me think of Shana. Dunno why. I am still pondering on how much Tabitha would look like Yuki when she dyes her hair grey, finally, although the show portrayed Kirche as an ultimate beauty, I am still irked about how ugly she looks. An over-tan, over sized breasts, and what ever.

Depth

Being a romance comedy, I would say it is really good. People would expect this show to be like.. mahou shoujo meets guy, wierd stuff happens kind of show (To-Love-Ru). Well it might be true, but this show is separated with the rest of the majority. But well, the comedy aspect of the show gives priority on Louise’s Zero aspect. Zero in chest size, zero in magical skills, zero in love experience, zero in being a i-love-you character, zero in being jx’s gf, zero in maths, WHATEVER. However, the romance parts of the show is really sweet. It makes you feel like.. Aww. Yes that’s it. But then it seriously is an awesome romance comedy, if compared to the average joe. However, I do not consider it to be an fantasy show as of now, cause the amount of adventures in season one is crap.

Sound

I never really gave a damn about the OP and ED, but I would say that the OP does not fit into the show much. ED’s allright. I have more controversy about the seiyuus. Louise has Rie Kugimiya. I think the amount of Rie Kugimiya used on tsunderes are more than the amount of germs there are in this world. Ha great joke right. Well, Rie Kugimiya is awesome on every famous tsundere, and Louise isn’t an exception. Saito by Satoshi Hino, I feel he’s more suited for Saito than “Mr Fail” Yuji.  We have Yui Horie *woot!* as Siesta, and well I can say it’s one of her normal performances though. I would prefer her in Idolmaster as Yukiho or Ayu in Kanon. Even Makie of Negima would be better.  Sorry, I have not given a damn about hearing the sound effects.

Feel

Everyone would know that I’m one to put all my rants in this portion.

Firstly, the show was set up when Louise summoned Saito through a diamond shaped structure. I understand that only Saito himself can see, but wtf about his parents? Treat him as he had disappeared? This part I seriously do not understand. Next, I found the ending episode to be poorly executed. I would have preferred the kiss in Episode 12 to end it all, so that viewers would anticipate what would be of Louise’s and Saito’s relationship. I understood the part about why the plane was there for, but one episode of it was way too much. Since the show had no further plans of elaboration of the entire I-would-stay-with-louise-than-my-parents(yes there is nothing wrong, honest.) why bother wasting 1 episode on the journey to find the plane?

Finally, I would like to say how rosy-cheeked Louise looks fail.

I googled this pic. Looks like its from a edition of the megami mag which I do not have.

The tan just doesn’t fit her. And the bikini too.

Ok to end the whole review, I would add another scene from ZnT.

Yes folks, the 3 pictures in this post is what Zero No Tsukaima is all about. Seduction, Baths, and flat chests.

Something’s wrong with the editing material, but I found out that this review lacked  a rating. And lots of engrish can be found.

Ratings: 77/100
